Program Note:
Ordo, ordinis n. a row, order/rank, succession, or series
Written during the fall of 2009 and spring of 2010, Ordinis is a set of variations built upon a traditional rounded binary form. A succession of sustained musical elements heard at the onset of this work, which is continually transformed through the process of rotation, gradually yields to a more restless, energetic soundscape. Energy within this active section of music eventually wanes; and, in the absence of its restlessness, a tranquil, unhurried music returns to the fore.
