Program Note
This work is dedicated to my two cats, Taylor and Percy, who were harassed by Blue Jays. The musical gestures and rhythmic events were all inspired by the movements of the cats and the blue jay as they chased each other around the yard. (No one was harmed in the creation of this piece—cat or bird—but much laughter happened.)
